JEFF PILSON: New DIO Album Is 'Phenomenal'
May 3, 2004Bassist Jeff Pilson has issued the following update regarding the forthcoming DIO album, tentatively due in July through Sanctuary Records in the U.S. and SPV Records in Europe:
"The DIO record went extremely well — Simon [Wright] and I finished our parts last week. What kick-ass bass and drum sounds — I'm so pleased. Can't wait to hear the finished record — the songs are so great. We did some photos on Friday, and saw Rudy [Sarzo] who also is very excited about being in the live line-up. This record and tour should be phenomenal!"
With regards to the touring plans for his WAR & PEACE project, Pilson wrote, "I'm anticipating that by next month's commentary [on my official web site] I'll be announcing the members for the new live WAR AND PEACE. I have a real good idea of the line-up, but don’t want to say anything until it's firm, which should be real soon. The European mini-tour for September is on, so we're starting the process of putting together some American warm-up dates (August and early September) and let me tell you — I'm excited. Having not been on the road in 4 years has me chomping at the bit! I can’t wait to announce the band, because if it all works out — this will be one kick-ass band!"
WAR & PEACE released their new album, "The Walls Have Eyes", last month through Z Records. The track listing includes an exclusive European bonus track — a version of DOKKEN's "Walk Away" performed with a string quartet.
